Our vision for this project was to create a unique development that would stand out in the affluent area of Mermaid Beach, a duplex with an arresting façade that luxuriously fronts all the necessities of a modern home while paying homage to it’s coastal surrounds.
Crafted in collaboration with Jayson Pate Design, these villas seamlessly blend innovative design with superior craftsmanship earning the esteemed title of Apartment Complex of the Year at the 2024 HIA Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Housing Awards.
Our goal was to make the duplex feel like a single, cohesive house rather than two separate units. The two elegant villas share the same timeless, immersive material palette chosen to both complement and endure the dynamic, weathering coastal environment. 3m high ceilings generously diffuse the abundance of natural light, offering expansive and uplifting open plan living.
Ocean views, natural stone tiles and polished render feature walls, island benches and vanities reflect the hues and textures of the beach while internal and external planters with draping greenery reference the hinterland, articulating the spirit of the region with a tangible connection to nature – a signature of our builds.
The villas are fully automated ensuring both the functional and emotional needs of a home are met. While they have these attributes in common, each villa has subtle differences in design that make them unique in personality.
With instant access to the beach, tactile and considered material palettes, captivating views and unsparing entertainment areas, these villas are a sophisticated celebration of coastal living.
